SUMMARY:ISB's Research Roundtable - Long COVID: New Clues from the Immune System
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a Research Roundtable with ISB President Jim Heath\, PhD\, exploring new research into the biology of Long COVID. Dr. Heath will discuss emerging findings on persistent immune responses and autoantibodies in people with Long COVID\, and what these signals may reveal about the mechanisms underlying prolonged symptoms following SARS-CoV-2 infection. Dr. Heath will also discuss plans for an upcoming NIH-sponsored Long COVID Hackathon\, which will bring together clinical and biological experts to mine an extensive dataset on more than 17\,000 individuals collected through the national RECOVER initiative. The hackathon will utilize a novel AI framework developed at ISB by Andrew Magis\, PhD. A Q&A will follow the presentation. This free virtual event is open to everyone\, regardless of scientific background. Registration is required to attend.

SUMMARY:Immunology to Change Lives
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Immunology To Change Lives on Tuesday\, November 17\, 2026! Save the date and check back soon for more information about this event. \nAt BRI\, our vision of a healthy immune system for everyone drives us forward. From studying genes to understand why some people are more at risk for diseases of the immune system\, to exploring therapies that delay the onset of disease\, our research fuels groundbreaking discoveries that impact the real people living with these conditions. We take what we learn in the lab and integrate it into clinical care. Just as importantly\, we take the challenging questions and lived experiences from patients and clinicians and bring them back into the lab. This cycle — where research shapes care\, and care inspires new research – moves forward our mission of advancing the science to predict\, prevent\, reverse and cure diseases of the immune system.

SUMMARY:2026 ISB Frontiers in Computational Biology Symposium
DESCRIPTION:Computational biology has been at the heart of ISB’s approach to science since our founding\, providing new ways to understand the complexity of human biology and disease. Today\, advances in artificial intelligence and machine learning\, single-cell and spatial technologies\, multi-omics\, and mechanistic modeling are rapidly expanding what is possible. \nThe ISB Frontiers in Computational Biology Symposia Series brings together leading scientists from ISB\, the Seattle research community\, and institutions across the country to explore where the field is headed next. Through a day of scientific presentations and discussion\, researchers will share emerging approaches for turning increasingly complex biological data into deeper understanding of biological systems\, disease mechanisms\, and human health. \nThe 2026 symposium\, themed “AI\, Multi-Omics\, and the Future of Human Health\,” will be held on December 9\, 2026. Join us in person at ISB in Seattle\, or stream the presentations and discussions via our virtual offering. \nGet Your Ticket Today! \nIn-Person: $50 \nVirtual: Free
