The series allows Fred Hutch faculty\, employees\, Consortium members\, students\, and global cancer or global health community members to be a part of this important conversation. \nHenry Ddungu\, MBChB\, MMed\, Hematology Consultant\, Uganda Cancer Institute\nPRESENTING: Optimal Use of Platelet Transfusion in Cancer (OPTIC) in sub-Saharan Africa \nDr. Ddungu began his Ph.D. studies in Seattle with coursework at the University of Washington and clinical oncology rotations at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and Harborview Medical Center. Since returning to Kampala in 2012\, he has continued his doctoral research at Makerere University\, studying the optimal use of platelet transfusion for oncology patients at the UCI. He is currently a hematologist and director of laboratory operations at the UCI. \nThis is a rescheduled seminar from February.

By recording and manipulating neural activity in the basal ganglia\, motor cortex and thalamus\, we delineate the logic by which these circuits work together to promote the acquisition and control of task-specific motor sequences. I will also talk about recent work we have done to probe how the brain controls naturalistic movements across behavioral contexts. \nBence Ölveczky is a Professor of Organismic and Evolutionary Biology at Harvard University.
