SUMMARY:Ensuring Supply Chain Flexibility and Viability for Biologics
DESCRIPTION:Almac Clinical Services invites you to join our complimentary customer Lunch and Learn workshop\, Ensuring Supply Chain Flexibility and Viability for Biologics. We created this event to provide you with critical insights into the subject area of adaptable clinical trial supply solutions in a changing market. \nAs a biologics-focused innovator\, your study protocols and products are complex and demand careful management. This workshop will explore the benefits of having a robust packaging strategy that takes into consideration solutions that ensure your temperature sensitive products remain viable and flexible for wider use across your studies lifecycle. Take control over your high cost\, high demand clinical supplies\, and learn how to decrease waste\, increase product availability\, and effectively manage limited stability profiles within the clinical supply chain to meet the specific needs and timelines of your biologic trials. \nUnderstand the key milestones that directly impact clinical trial supply\, and explore current and projected shifts in the clinical trial landscape which will require sponsors to be more responsive to change. \nTopics that will be covered include:\n– The rise of biologics and market pressures\n– The complexity of biologics supply chain management\n– Flexible clinical trial supply solutions including Just in Time Manufacturing\n– Critical considerations for cold chain management

SUMMARY:Hindsight 2020 - The Allen Institute Developmental Recording Symposium
DESCRIPTION:Join us March 3-5\, 2020 at the Allen Institute for Hindsight 2020 – The Allen Institute Developmental Recording Symposium\, a meeting featuring the latest insights from leading researchers in the fields of cell lineage and developmental recording\, chaired by Jay Shendure\, M.D.\, Ph.D. and Michael Elowitz\, Ph.D.\, of the Allen Discovery Center at UW Medicine. \nUnderstanding the lineages and molecular histories of individual cells is fundamental to understanding development and disease in multicellular organisms. Advances in genome engineering\, genome editing\, synthetic biology\, single cell sequencing\, and molecular imaging are enabling revolutionary approaches in which cells actively record their own histories to their genomes. These approaches are beginning to provide new insights into diverse developmental and disease processes. Hindsight 2020 will bring together researchers working on all aspects of this new field from technology development to biological inquiry. Winners of the Allen Institute Cell Lineage Reconstruction DREAM Challenge will also be announced at the event.

SUMMARY:The Story Collider
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the first of many celebrations of our ten-year anniversary! As we build toward the final extravaganza in Brooklyn on May 12\, our cities around the world will be holding their own celebrations — and the party starts in Seattle\, where we’ll present an extra-special evening of true\, personal stories about science. \nHosted by Emi Okikawa and Melia Paguirigan. \n\n\nStories by: \n\n\n\n\n\n\nCindy Healy is a wife\, mom\, daughter\, friend\, woman in tech and STEM advocate and speaker. She lives in a multi-generational\, multi-species household in Woodinville Washington with her husband\, son\, parents and two dogs.  Cindy knows great advice when she hears it and is thankful she listened when told: “you should get a degree in Computer Science”\, ” why not try internet dating?” and “you need to try yoga.”  She enjoys listening to podcasts\, storytelling\,  pushing herself and others to get out of their comfort zones and day dreaming about sunny and warm climates. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBrenna Sowder is a writer and nonprofit communications professional. She has spent much of her life on boats looking for whales\, first as the daughter of a marine biologist\, later as a research assistant in the Bay of Fundy\, and now with her family in the Salish Sea. In addition to telling mission-driven stories for nonprofits\, she has worked as an environmental educator and freelance journalist. These days\, she divides her time between writing and raising two small humans. She is currently working on a memoir\, and she also writes essays about how to be an observer of nature and her evolving definition of an adventurous life. She lives outside Seattle with her family. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCecilia Aragon is an author\, pilot\, scientist and the first Latina full professor in the College of Engineering at the University of Washington. She’s worked with Nobel Prize winners\, taught astronauts to fly\, and created musical simulations of the universe with rock stars. She’s a co-founder of Latinas in Computing and a passionate advocate for girls and women in STEM. Her research discoveries\, and a stint at NASA designing software for Mars missions\, led President Obama to call her “one of the top scientists and engineers in the country.” She lives in Seattle and has a memoir\, Flying Free\, coming out in September.
