Bold Breakthroughs will feature the groundbreaking research of PNRI’s Dudley Lab that is revolutionizing the diagnosis and treatment of OTC deficiency—a devastating inherited metabolic disease. To explore the full scope of this innovation, the conversation will include:

  • Dr. Aimée Dudley, the Senior Investigator at PNRI leading the OTC deficiency research project,
  • Dr. Andrea Gropman, the Principal Investigator of the Urea Cycle Disorders Consortium and the Division Chief of Neurodevelopmental Pediatrics and Neurogenetics at Children’s National Hospital,
  • Tresa Warner, the president of the National Urea Cycle Disorders Foundation and a mother of a child with OTC deficiency, and
  • Jessie Hastings Conta, a licensed genetic counselor and owner of Pickhandle Consulting where she works to reduce barriers to access and financial coverage of genetic testing and counseling, will moderate the discussion.

The speakers will present different perspectives on how genetic discoveries at PNRI will benefit patients and their families. It will be a powerful, intriguing, and inspiring conversation.
