Demystifying ChatGPT for Academics

April 5, 2023 - 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

The UW community is invited to a panel discussion, Demystifying ChatGPT for Academics, with UW experts in AI technology and in implications for education. This event is sponsored by the Office of Research, the Office of Academic and Student Affairs, the College of Engineering, and the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering.

About this Event

Since November, ChatGPT and language models have been on many people’s minds around campus. Wondering about how ChatGPT will impact your teaching? Whether you are thinking about banning it or embracing it, you should make decisions that are informed about how ChatGPT works, technology limitations (both for language generation and automatic detection), and what the future might hold. This panel discussion will bring together UW experts in natural language processing and academics thinking about how to use AI technology responsibly in enhancing student learning.

Tickets and Registration

Tickets for in-person participation are available (free). The event will be live-streamed, and a virtual ticket option will be available soon.
