Fundamentals for Startups: Negotiating Startup Life through a Crisis

April 10, 2020 - 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Fundamentals for startups

In this conversation, Dan RosenXiao Wang and Ken Myer will dive into the challenges and opportunities of navigating a startup through the COVID-19 crisis. As an experienced investor and chairman of Alliance of Angels, Dan has a wealth of experience investing and advising startup companies in a variety of industries. Xiao Wang is President and CEO of Boundless Immigration, a technology startup whose mission is to empower families to navigate the immigration system. Not surprisingly, the COVID-19 crisis has Xiao and his team navigating their own unique business challenges. Ken Myer is an interim executive who helps companies navigate challenging business transitions and is a lecturer on leadership and a commercialization adviser at the UW. Using an interview-style format through a Zoom online video conference, we’ll explore the implications of the COVID-19 crisis on startup teams and leaders.

Format
Fundamentals for Startups is a weekly one-hour lecture series featuring notable experts who share startup-related information, experience, and insights with our entrepreneurial community. From raising capital to scaling to exit strategies, these seasoned guest speakers deliver valuable content designed to help startups and entrepreneurs thrive. Lectures are typically 30-40 mins, followed by open Q&A.

Each lecture is archived on CoMotion’s Startup Training Videos page.

These lectures are open to the public and you do not have to be currently affiliated with the UW or a startup to join. Please register at the link below for Zoom access information.  We hope you can join us!
