Keith Sigel, MD, PhD, MPH, Associate Professor of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai

Presenting: “HIV and Anal Cancer: Epidemiology, Evolution, Prevention and Treatment”

This presentation will review the epidemiology and clinical issues specific to anal cancer in people with HIV. There will be a particular focus on the natural history and opportunities for prevention related to anal precancers with descriptions of the research that Dr. Sigel’s group has done in that area.

Speaker Bio: Dr. Sigel is an Associate Professor in the Divisions of General Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Sigel received his BS, MPH, and MD degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his PhD and internal medicine and infectious diseases training from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Sigel is a clinical researcher and epidemiologist with a primary research interest in clinical factors related to the abnormal biology of lung cancer and anal cancer in patients with HIV. He co-directs the Cancer Core of the Veterans Aging Cohort.
