Grant Writing Bootcamp Part II – Essentials for SBIR/STTR Proposals

Join Life Science Washington Institute in January, for part two of our grant writing bootcamp to help demystify SBIR/STTR funding routes.

This series is for anyone interested in learning more about SBIR and STTR funding opportunities and those who want to effectively compete for these awards to develop and commercialize innovative technologies. The bootcamp serves as an “intro” to the SBIR/STTR programs. At the end of the series, participants will be equipped and prepared to submit a proposal for SBIR or STTR funding.

This session will be virtual AND in person, exact location TBD – Spokane, WA. Sessions are NOT recorded.

Who Should Participate?: This bootcamp series is for anyone interested in learning more about SBIR and STTR funding opportunities, and for those who want to effectively compete for these awards to develop and commercialize innovative technologies.

Cost & Registration: The workshop is FREERegister here for Part II.

Format: Two interactive sessions, weekly assignments to help you prepare to submit your proposal, and the opportunity to receive feedback on assignments throughout the bootcamp.  At the end of the series, participants will be equipped to begin the process of preparing a proposal for SBIR or STTR funding. Richard Giersch will lead the bootcamp.

Need funding for your technology? We can help!

1. Find a funding opportunity announcement (FOA)

  • NIH Matchmaker can be used to conduct keyword searches of a particular topic area to help you identify Institutes or Centers that have previously funded research in that area.
  • Search the 2022 Program Descriptions and Research Topics to identify priority research areas.
  • View targeted SBIR/STTR funding announcements, focused on specific research areas.

2. Register for the LSW Institute SBIR/STTR Assistance Program

  • “Demystifying SBIR/STTR Funding” September  (No cost to attend)
  • “Essentials of the NIH” September (No cost to attend; RSVP here)

Please check all due dates to ensure you allow plenty of time to complete the registration process and prepare and submit your proposal. There are five required registrations and the proposal submissions process is multi-step.
