New Multi-Modal Single Cell Technologies Enable Deep Profiling Into Human Immune Cell Development

July 19, 2023 - 9:30 am - 10:30 am

Immunology webinar multiplex

In this webinar, Allen Institute for Immunology researchers will provide an overview of the research conducted by the Allen Institute for Immunology and share how multiplexed multi-modal fixed scRNA-seq assays can overcome challenges found in traditional single cell transcriptomics, including scalability and rare cell-type identification. Further, they will demonstrate how the application of this multiplexed assay to deeply profile cellular populations in human bone marrow can empower unique insight into a continuous developmental trajectory of cells.

Peter Skene, Marla Glass and Zach Thomson used Gene Expression Flex, which allowed them to:

  • Maximize efficiency and get more out of each run with built-in multiplexing
  • Identify rare cell types without upstream enrichment steps
  • Refine our view of immune cell profiling and differentiation

Attendees will learn:

  • How new highly scalable scRNA-seq technologies enable >1 million cell batches through multiplexing and resolvable doublets
  • How the Allen Institute for Immunology is utilizing automation with liquid handling robots to increase cell recovery and reduce batch to batch variability
  • High level overview of bioinformatics pipeline to jumpstart data analysis from large scale batches
  • How multiplexing enables higher resolution analysis of immune cell developmental trajectories in bone marrow samples
  • Explore aspects of B cell development, from the hematopoietic stem cellto immature B cellsas well as a spectrum of mature B cell populations present in human tissues
