Bios

Dr. Paul Thottingal attended the University of Manitoba in Canada for his medical training. After completing medical school, he spent six years in sub-Saharan Africa as an HIV Research Fellow and a consultant on HIV, tuberculosis, and malaria in Kenya. He has served as a consultant to multiple international health development agencies. Dr. Thottingal has been a member of the Washington Permanente Medical Group Board of Directors since 2015 and is the organization’s expert on infectious diseases, co-leading KPWAs COVID-19 Incident Command Center and generally acting as the face of our clinical response. Most recently, Dr. Thottingal leads the COVID-19 Expert Group/Infectious Disease Inter-Regional Clinical Practice Group and serves as Chief Medical Officer of KPs COVID-19 National Incident Command Center.
