Race and Ethnicity in Analyses of Health Care Data: Reflections from KPWHRI Researchers

FreeIn this seminar, KPWHRI researchers will discuss their experiences with and reflections on incorporating race and ethnicity into our studies. We will set the stage by discussing what we mean by race and the broader implications of its usage by scientists, followed by how race and ethnicity data are collected and stored in KP Washington’s data warehouse. We will then focus on methodological considerations around including race and ethnicity in statistical models and how to best communicate findings of racial and ethnic disparities.
