Science in the City – Women in STEM: Breaking Down Barriers

February 5, 2019 - 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Today there are more women than men entering medical school nationwide, when three decades ago women made up only a third of medical students. While this is something to celebrate, in other STEM subjects, such as engineering, computer science, and physics, women still only make up 25% or less of bachelor’s degrees. Join us as Dr. Sarah Myhre, Founder of Rowan Institute and Founding Board Member of 500 Women Scientists, leads a conversation with female professionals, across STEM disciplines, about the barriers they have overcome during their careers, what they have seen change, and what the future of women in STEM could and should look like.
