Eight research teams at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center will receive in-house grants this year from the Evergreen Fund, a unique program to boost scientific projects deemed promising enough in their early stages to attract potential commercial partners later on.
Designed to provide a well-timed boost of resources to academic scientists with good ideas that might be attractive to the business community, the donor-backed Evergreen Fund has awarded more than $5.2 million to Fred Hutch researchers since 2017.
