Microsoft’s AI for Good Lab late Tuesday announced 20 Washington state grantees who will receive a combined $5 million in assistance over the next two years for what the lab called game-changing organizations and projects helping solve today’s challenges and paving the way for a better future.
The 20 awardees will receive Microsoft Azure credits and the ability to collaborate with AI for Good Lab scientists. The lab, a philanthropic effort of the company, partners with organizations around the world working to solve myriad problems, with the lab providing the tools of computing power, and AI experts, and data scientists to help organizations’ subject matter experts in their work. The Washington grants, after an earlier open call for projects, come as Redmond-based Microsoft celebrates 50 years in business this year.
